Tuesday Tip: Creating a Custom Background

Have you ever been in the middle of a project and needed just "the right" piece of matching paper or cardstock - only to realize that, dispite the 10,000 pieces of paper you already have, the perfect one is not within your grasp? Fear not! I'm going to show you a quick and fool-proof way fix to that little issue, and all you need is the supplies you currently have covering your workspace out.

Grab a small stamp from the set you're working with - I've chosen the sun and the raindrops from Sunshine & Rainbows for today's examples, since I'm designing a card with that bundle for Thursday's video tutorial. Heads up - this bundle is retiring May 31st, so if you love it as I do, go grab it while you can! There's a link at the end of this post for you to find it easily. See how much I love you??

But I digress....
Once your stamp is mounted, ink it up and stamp randomly on a piece of card stock to make a background. You can do tone-on-tone, you can do colors on white, neon colors on black...the possibilities are endless, and your new designer paper with match your project because you used the same materials/colors to do both! Super easy, right? Here's one I did in tone-on-tone Daffodil Delight:

And here's one I did with Pool Party on Whisper White card stock:

That's it for today! I hope this tip has been helpful to you. If it has, will you please leave me a comment and let me know? It's nice to know I'm talking myself (at least not all the time). 😉
